Sergey Shishkaryov and Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin Discussed the Development of Transportation Infrastructure on the Caspian Sea
Sergey Shishkaryov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, held a working meeting with Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region. It discussed plans for the development of transportation infrastructure on the Caspian Sea, as well as sports projects of Delo Group.
“We do see potential in the region in terms of logistics, including within the framework of the large project of the international transportation corridor “North-South”. We are considering the possibility of building a terminal in Astrakhan and staging our fleet in these waters”, said Sergey Shishkaryov.
“Development of transportation infrastructure on the Caspian Sea is an important stage for sustainable economic growth of the region. We firmly support the plans for the development of the North-South corridor and will implement projects contributing to the strengthening of transportation links in the region”, said the Governor of the Astrakhan region.
The parties agreed to jointly inspect the ports of Astrakhan, Olya and other sites that are potentially suitable for construction and development of port infrastructure within the framework of the development of the international transport corridor “North-South”.
Besides, Sergei Shishkaryov and Igor Babushkin attended the first friendly match of the Caspian Cup handball match between the women’s teams of Russia and Belarus, which was held in Astrakhan. Russian handball players won the competition. Sergei Shishkaryov thanked the Governor for the high organization of such a significant event. The parties discussed the work of professional handball clubs and sports schools in Astrakhan region and outlined the prospects for the development of this popular sport in the region.
